Time for Almadex to leave the Bottom-fish Collection and join the Favorites
Why is Rick Rule not slamming the hammer on Almadex for disobeying the rule never to drill a prospect with your own money?
Almadex Minerals Ltd was graduated from the 2025 Bottom-Fish Collection to the 2025 Favorites Collection on September 15, 2025 at a price of $0.63, up from $0.165 at the start of the year. Almadex is pursuing a hybrid strategy of generating epithermal and porphyry prospects in western United States which it plans to farm out to others, but not before drilling scout holes that could deliver low hanging fruit. This is a sometimes surreptitious deviation from long time Duane Poliquin backer Rick Rule's dictum that a prospect-generator-farmout junior should never use its own money to drill a prospect. Almadex can afford to do this because it has about $20 million working capital following the July repayment of a gold loan by Almaden Minerals Ltd, a predecessor now pursuing reimbursement from Mexico for the confiscation of its Ixtaca gold-silver project. Almadex also owns 6 portable drill rigs which lower costs and will come in handy when rig demand goes up with the awakening resource junior bull cycle. But why is Almadex risking the wrath of Rick Rule?
